When I came home from work today there were a couple of letters from Cancer Research UK for me among the usual bills and junk mail.
As part of my ongoing decluttering exercise at EuropeCrazy HQ - now on hold for a little summer break - over the past year I filled a number of bags of perfectly good clothing which was either too small/too big/too 'what was I thinking'? and took them to our local Cancer Research charity shop.
I never thought any more of it until today when I received those letters, which advised that the sale of my clothes had raised just under £150 (including Gift Aid) for the charity. Although I still have many reservations about how various charities are unnecessarily wasting money, I can only hope that this little contribution will benefit someone, somewhere, battling this horrific illness which touches everyone's lives.
